About This Project
Our clientis an established Australian disability support provider delivering essential services to individuals, families and communities across the country. As part of a broader technology modernisation programme,the organisation required a secure and scalable solution to retain historical business information while transitioning away from its legacy enterprise platform.
The existing TechnologyOne environment contained years of operational data, business documents, and supporting attachments that needed to remain accessible after the system was decommissioned. The client wanted a modern cloud-based repository that would preserve historical information while simplifying future reporting and compliance requirements.
To achieve this,they engaged Augmented Systems to design and deliver an automated migration solution that securely transferred historical data into Snowflake while maintaining data integrity and document accessibility.

We worked closely with the client's technical stakeholders to design an automated migration framework that delivered secure,repeatable, and validated data transfers from TechnologyOne into Snowflake.

Data Discovery & Migration Planning
Ourteam analysed the TechnologyOne environment, identified data dependencies, documented field mappings, and established a migration strategy covering structured data, metadata, documents, and attachments.

ETL Automation
Using Python and Selenium, we developed automated extraction processes to retrieve historical information from TechnologyOne. The solution reduced manual intervention while ensuring consistent and repeatable migration activities.

Azure Blob Storage Integration
Extracted datasets, metadata, and supporting documents were securely uploaded into AzureBlob Storage. Separate storage locations were established for business data, metadata, and documents to simplify governance and ongoing management.

Snowflake Implementation
Using Snowflake Storage Integration, historical information was securely loaded into a centralised cloud repository. The solution provided a scalable, read-only environmentthat preserved historical business records after TechnologyOne was decommissioned.

Data Validation & Synchronisation
Comprehensive validation routines confirmed field mappings, record counts and documentrelationships throughoutthe migration process. Incremental synchronisation ensured newly created information could continue to be migrated until the final cutover.
